The Unspoken Silence: Antique Bakery

My friend told me about this up coming movie entitled Antique. Starring Jo Ji Hoon (Goong, Princess Hours and The Devil) and Kim Jae Wook (Coffee Prince). Also starring in the movie are Yo Ah In and Choi Jo Ho.

According to the production company Joo Ji Hoon will play the “Antique” owner Jin Hyuk who becomes the perfect salesmen with his speech skills, while Kim Jae Wook will play the genius patissier Son Woo to mark his silver screen debut.

Also, Yoo Ah In will play the boxer turned patissier assistant Gi Beom, and Choi Ji Ho who debuted through (Time Between Dog and Wolf) will play the role of Jin Hyuk’s bodyguard Soo Young.

The movie is due for release on November 13, 2008.

It is base from a Japanese manga entitled Antique Bakery (西洋骨董洋菓子店 Seiyō Kottō Yōgashiten, "Western Antique Cake-Shop"). A manga by Fumi Yoshinaga depicting the lives of four men who work in a small bakery. It was published in Japan by Shinshokan and in English by Digital Manga Publishing. The series won the 2002 Kodansha Manga Awardshōjo The manga was adapted as a Japanese TV drama, with the title Antique or Antique Cake Store, that was broadcast on Fuji TV in 2001, and has been adapted into a TV anime, airing on July 3, 2008 on noitaminA.
